Photography is the fundamental service of Mutrux & Associates. Because of Mutrux’s background as a corporate advertising manager, all imaging is done, conceptually, with the marketing objective in mind and, technically, with the specific mechanical requirement in mind. The result, typically, is a far more “successful” and integrated image.
The studio building is custom-designed for photography, providing drive-in access to the 1200 sq.-ft. camera room which features a 27'-wide, paintable cyclorama. Features which enhance the utility of the building include location on a 2-acre, wooded lot which provides ample opportunity for natural backgrounds and settings, a natural stone fireplace in the front office and the photographer’s residence only a few yards away which provide more opportunities for photo settings and resources.
Equipment includes conventional camera systems in all formats 35mm through 8x10 and direct digital capture capability. The digital camera is tetherable to a mobile capture workstation on the studio floor which is connected via high-speed etheret (100 Base-T) to two workstations and one additional computer. In addition, fast internet access is available to all computers on the network at all times via cable modem service. This bandwidth, along with dedicated software tools, facilitates posting images on the world wide web for image selection or, in the case of images
for the web, direct delivery to the end user.
Design & Prepress Services rely on a color-managed workflow, including hardware-calibrated monitors and custom profiles for scanner, camera and printers. Software includes Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe GoLive, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe InDesign, QuarkXpress, Fontographer, and others. Adobe PressReady with a dedicated Epson 1520 inkjet printer provides excellent in-house pre-proofing capability for prepress. CD-burning, scanning of reflective art and transparencies, ZIP drives and easy OCR capability via a Visioneer Strobe Pro scanner round out the studio capabilities.
